Lead Senior Satellite Software Engineer in Test
Moog Advanced Programs (AP) West, a business unit of Moog Space and Defense, is looking for a Lead Satellite Software Engineer in Test to join our Space Vehicles team in Arvada, CO. Moog AP West specializes in passive and active vibration suppression/load alleviation products and services, spacecraft buses and sub-systems, spacecraft and payload structure and propulsive accommodations, and precision motion control.
The Space Vehicles team is rapidly growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike. The focus is on the development of satellite buses, Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and more. The team is a tight-knit group of collaboration-oriented professionals that welcome others looking to work on multi-faceted, complex problems as a team.
This position has a primary focus of Lead Software Engineering supporting the test team. The role includes supporting the Satellite Test team in building EGSE tools to support their needs. Day-to-day activities include harvesting requirements from the Satellite Test team, hands on development with EGSE test equipment and satellite equipment, working with Satellite Test team to develop next-gen EGSE test setup.
The Arvada, CO location is nestled in the front range, just west of Denver. The office is a 10-minute drive from downtown Golden and is an easy commute from most of the Denver Metro area as well as easy access to the light rail. Colorado offers year-round outdoor activities and is a melting pot of cultures.
Basic Qualifications:

B.S. (4 year) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

8 years in Software Development.

3 years using Python or scripting languages

Experience using common electronic laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.

Self-Starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and can communicate effectively.

This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information
Preferred Experience / Qualifications:

Experience leading Software Development teams
-
Experience with Developing Spacecraft ground test equipment software.

Experience with design and developing GUIs in LabView and/or Python.

Experience controlling National Instruments Hardware.

Experience with one of the following ground software programs: COSMOS, InControl, MAXGDS.

Experience using common communications protocols/standards such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, SpaceWire, LVDS, RS-422, RS-485, I2C, SPI, SCPI.

Experience using VxWorks, or other RTOS.

Experience using container engines such as Docker, containerd, or LXC.

Experience using networking software. (netcat, WireShark)

Experience developing in Windows and Linux environments.

Experience with one or more CI/CD tools.

Experience with MAX Flight Software.

Experience creating software design diagrams.

Experience with the Agile development process.

Experience interacting with customer and managing customer needs.

Experience interacting with and managing subcontractors.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
