Aircraft Group Finance and Accounting Analyst (Flexible/Hybrid Work Schedule)
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for a dynamic Finance and Accounting Analyst with a proven track record of successful business partnering to support the finance organization at the Torrance Site. This position will perform various cost accounting and finance functions and work both independently and as a team player with the ability to analyze data thoroughly and effectively. SAP experience and formal training in Six Sigma, Lean or another Continuous Improvement methodology is a definite plus.
Role & Responsibility:
- Responsible for month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate monthly closing of the financial records
- Reconciles general ledger accounts, ensuring the accounts balance to underlying support and investigating and resolving any reconciling items
- Records journal entries to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Prepare monthly customer invoices and progress billings
- Prepare program EACs and perform analysis
- Develop various financial models
- Prepare annual budgets
- Assist Site finance accounting and Group reporting functions with various financial reporting activities, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and analyses and miscellaneous accounting activities
- Support other Ad Hoc projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Experience with financial modeling
- Solid knowledge of financial and accounting GAAP principles including experience working with fundamental accounting principles such as accruals, capitalization, depreciation, and amortization.
- 3 – 6 years in accounting and or finance position with meaningful experience in cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and cost variance analysis
- Strong analytical abilities and communication skills (written and oral)
- Advanced skills using Excel
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing experience and aerospace industry preferred
- Ability to plan and manage daily tasks, meet deadlines, analyze, provide results and recommend solutions to various levels of management including being proactive, creative, and innovative in solving problems and issues
- This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information
- Ability to relocate to Torrance, CA (Los Angeles County area)
