Moog Aircraft Group, the leader in advanced flight controls for commercial and military aircraft, is looking for a Development Systems Engineer for Test Equipment. Positioned on virtually every aircraft in the marketplace, Moog designs, manufactures, and integrates precision motion control components and complete flight control systems
Moog Test Equipment designs and deploys custom, computer-controlled test systems to prove the airworthiness and design robustness of our flight systems.
As a Development Systems Engineer for Aircraft Test Equipment, you’ll be a primary motivator and contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex equipment used to test aircraft motion control components, actuators, and systems. You can expect to:
- Work with internal and external customers to develop and refine system requirements.
- Conceptualize, model and design computer controlled mechanical/hydraulic test rigs.
- Develop system models of the test equipment and actuators using MATLAB, Simulink, and AMESIM, and integrate them on computerized test consoles.
- Define automated testing scripts for electro/hydro/mechanical actuators and controllers using MATLAB and/or Python.
- Analyze actuator control requirements and design PID or alternate control schemes to test the actuator performance in a production environment in the same manner it is used on target aircraft.
- Develop architecture documents and system integration and testing plans and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, preferably an advanced degree with aerospace or systems engineering focus
- 3+ years of experience with design, modelling, analysis, and development of complex systems
- A proven record of successful development programs working as a part of a project team
- Familiarity with the areas of requirements definition, control system design and tuning, integration, V&V, modeling & simulation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in off-the-shelf real-time systems such as dSPACE and National Instruments is a plus
- Since this individual will often be seen by customers as the responsible technical representative of the company, you must be able to communicate fluently to a wide variety of audiences
