Duties include: Shipping, Receiving and Material Handling to monitor inventory to support purchasing, production and ensure that invoice accuracy is maintained through cycle counts, system transactions, etc. and making sure inventory is stored appropriately and stocked in a manner that is accountable with the ERP system. 

General Position Summary:

The Inventory Specialist performs their duties in a non-environmentally controlled environment.  The Inventory Specialist is responsible to monitor inventory to support purchasing, production and ensure that invoice accuracy is maintained through cycle counts, system transactions, etc.  Inventory specialists are also responsible for making sure inventory is stored appropriately and stocked in a manner that is accountable with the ERP system. 

Core Responsibilities:

Receiving

  • Receive inventory items from suppliers into stock or IQA
  • Match receiving documentation to Purchase Orders
  • Communicate shipment shortages to Purchasing Department
  • Daily cycle counts

Shipping

  • Prepare and process daily shipments of product for sales orders
  • Prepare and process non-system/miscellaneous shipment requests
  • Issue call tags and track shipments as necessary

Material Handling

  • Stock inventory items
  • Transact Bin issues in ERP system
  • Fill daily sales orders
  • Transact FG product into ERP system
  • Repackage material for kitting or other use
  • Segregate inventory according to product status
  • Create and apply hazmat and product expiration  labels
  • Deliver materials to appropriate departments

Miscellaneous

  • May be selected to operate fork lifts
  • Complete required training in a timely manner
  • Assist other inventory staff with their duties as requested
  • Assist with other projects as requested by a member of management
  • Hepatitis B vaccination advised – vaccination provided by MMDG

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written work instructions
  • Good oral and written communication skills, via in person, email and phone
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and basic computer understandings
  • Able to read and understand receiving and shipping documents
  • Forklift certification if chosen to be a designated lift truck operator
  • Able to succeed in highly regulated compliance oriented environment while still providing service excellence
  • This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and units of  measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to carry out tasks through detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
