Moog Inc. is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to work in a fast paced, team-oriented production environment, reporting to Blacksburg Central facility located at 1213 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
Here is what you can expect in this role:
- You will be the support to a slip ring production line, as well as Outsource Vendors.
- As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for the manufacturing process development with a domestic and international team.
- Tasks will involve creating, contributing, and approving engineering and tool drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.
- You can expect to review and respond to request for quotes on new orders.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.
- Off-Site travel domestically and internationally will be required.
- Enforcing and following policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they apply such as ITAR
- Providing reports to management on daily, weekly and monthly performance to schedules and expenditures
- Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.
- Cross-training to help in other areas as needed
- Any other tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or operations manager
Here is what you will need to be considered:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field or a bachelor's degree with relative work experience to a manufacturing role or an associate degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Personal computer experience with working knowledge of word processing, database, and enterprise information systems software as require. Should be proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team-oriented approach
- Ability to work in a high-paced multi-tasking environment
- Well organized with ability to set priorities and pursue them to their conclusion
- Able to work with and maintain confidential information
- Professional interpersonal skills are a must when working with internal and external customer, field sales, and co-workers
- This position requires access to U.S. Export Controlled Information

- Prior manufacturing experience
- Prior experience in slip ring technology
- Spanish speaking
