Mechanical Analysis Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer who is familiar with concurrent design and analysis of high-performance mass-constrained structures; with specific experience involving structures for space flight systems. Duties include: static and dynamic finite element-based structural analysis used to validate candidate designs against launch and operational environment requirements, developing vibration mitigation and motion control solutions for space flight and ground test systems, developing hardware requirements, preparing presentation materials and participating in design review and status meetings, writing test plans, and data analysis. This engineer will work as part of a team dedicated to analyzing, designing, building, testing, and delivering complex electro-mechanical systems.
What you'll be doing day-to-day:
- Support Space Vehicles / Vibration-Motion control development efforts during the entire design life cycle
- Create 3D Finite Element models and machine drawings using CAD/CAE Software
- Support hardware test efforts with fixture design and analysis
- Support small scale product development
- Provide engineering services to other groups within Moog Inc.
- Work in teams, and communicate across and above the organization on a regular basis
Minimum Qualifications that will you'll need to bring with you:
- BS Degree in Engineering, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 1-3 years of work experience in the Aerospace Industry
- Experience with Solidworks, NASTRAN, MATLAB, and FEMAP a plus
- Experience in dynamics and finite element based analysis applied methods (i.e. Normal Modes, Time & Frequency domain Harmonic, Random, and Shock forced response)
- Familiarity with vibration isolation systems, advanced material such as carbon fiber composites, and space structures is desired.
- This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information
