Operations Value Stream Manager - Aerospace
Moog is looking for an Operations (Value Stream) Manager to oversee the Assembly and Test Value Stream. In this role, you will have overall responsibility to ensure that customer delivery and quality expectations are met for the end customer. Your team will include 1 Process Manager, 2 Supervisors and approximately 55 Technicians. This position is located at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.

As a Value Stream Manager, you will…
- Work with program management and site leadership to develop and implement operational plan that meets business strategies.
- Actively engaged in the S&OP process and ensures the resource plan (capital/people) reflects business needs and growth; accountable for the action required out of the S&OP process
- Interact with support function management team to clear roadblocks, communicate Lean Management System (LMS) progress, and to escalate issues when needed.
- Ensure quality issues that arise are problem solved at appropriate rigor and tier of the organization. Promotes quality-first culture in all actions taken.
- Set the vision for the global value stream and product value streams in concert with other VSM’s.
- Ensure that actions and resources are deployed at root cause areas of instability.
- Own the value stream maps and overall LMS implementation schedule and strategy. Accountable for moving value stream forward.
- Responsible for value stream KPIs, business strategy, and business metrics. Accountable for reporting the health of the value stream.
- Interact with customers on high-level program performance/strategy as required.
- Ensure cost issues that arise are problem solved at appropriate rigor and tier of the organization (cost of poor quality, expense to budget plan, variable product cost, and inventory).
- Coach Process Managers and Performance Leaders using Lean Leadership Behaviors and the GROW model.
- Ensure support functions are aligned with and properly resourced to execute the operational plan.
Minimum Qualifications to be considered…
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing OR Master’s Degree with 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing
- 5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience
- This position requires access to United States export-controlled information
Preferred Qualifications Include…
- Prefer that the Bachelor’s Degree is in Business or a Technical discipline
- Experience in a strategic leadership role
- Experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry is helpful
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and programs
- Experience with P&L responsibility
- Experience in a value stream organization
- Experience with strategic data analysis for decision making; strong proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- SQL experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and managerial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
