Program Manager

The Program Manager coordinates and supports all activities related to his/her assigned programs (from contract award through software and hardware delivery), serves as the primary communication link between the customer and Moog. Advises management of status and potential problem areas on a regular basis while taking appropriate corrective action as required. Customer interface includes discussions about design features, quality systems, manufacturing processes, delivery plans and pricing support. The Program Manager will develop and maintain a plan for the start‑up of a new program including the size, sequence and timing of events through completion. The Program Manager must take action to assure the successful completion of his/her program which may include the judicious expediting of those Moog and customer activities which threaten the planned delivery schedule of the program, the support of lead engineering for the program or the cost analysis of the program pressing for possible improvements where the planned profitability is at risk.  Finally, the Program Manager is responsible for organizing customer visits locally and at the customer site. You will typically be responsible for several programs and act as the single point of contact for customers.

Here’s what you’ll be working on: Develop program plans and schedules to ensure proper coordination between all program elements. Monitor the status of cost, schedule and task completion to ensure compliance with program plans. Provide inputs to Sales Managers and Finance for bookings and Sales Forecasts, commonly referred to as Estimates at Completions (EACs) via the development of Estimates to Completion (ETCs). Assist in the preparation of proposals and change orders, and support fact-finding and negotiations to ensure completeness from a program management viewpoint. Coordinate with functional management to ensure the assignment of adequate program resources. Conduct effective day to day communications with the customer to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner. Lead the parts management effort on the project including tracking of component parts and highlighting parts issues with a focus on project schedule. Coordinate and manage all program activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements to include planning, monitoring and expediting when necessary. Monitor project performance to avoid scope creep.Plan, coordinate and manage the preparation of presentation materials for internal and customer meetings and reviews. Manage the conduct of such meetings and reviews. Prepare regular status reports, for management and the customer, which provide visibility for program issues, risks and opportunities. 

Basic Qualifications: Self-motivator with a passion for challenges. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications. Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Business Management. Minimum 5 to 10 years of program management experience

Preferred Qualifications include: Strongly prefer program management experience in the manufacturing of product for the aerospace or defense industries. Experience working with DoD customers; knowledge of DoD contractual terms, conditions and requirements. Experience with electronic systems. Experience managing multiple programs. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project. Negotiation skills to facility agreement on technical and contractual matters. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others.

 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
