Senior Electric Motors Design Engineer Remote

***This position is a remote position. This position will require travel to Blacksburg, VA at least once a quarter.***
Here's what you’ll be working on day to day:
The candidate will be responsible for being a primary technical resource for the design and development of brushless DC motors and generators for the Blacksburg, Va. operations of Moog Space & Defense Group. Will provide technical and design leadership through the entire development process: responses to initial RFI’s, specification reviews and proposals, motor design development, design reviews, technical support to manufacturing during prototype build and test, and technical support for customers and vendors. The candidate will also be looked to for innovative ideas to improve the existing product lines, along with expansion into adjacent products and technologies.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.

15 years of experience in electric motor design or related experience.

The candidate shall have an advanced ability to analyze and optimize motor electromagnetic design to determine both electrical and mechanical performance.

A knowledge of FEA analytical methods for motor performance modelling and simulation is required, with a preference for experience with ANSYS or Speed.

Strong team building skills and the ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing are required. Must have ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical personnel.

Must have ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the defense and/or aerospace markets is highly desirable.
