Moog Space and Defense is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer, responsible for the development and demonstration of actuation systems, including but not limited to Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC)/Avionics.  The scope of activities will cover the full range of program execution from business development and IR&D projects through system verification and production support.

 

The Senior Systems Engineer will:

  • Work closely with the customer to provide system trade space domain knowledge, systems architecture and interface definition, and requirements validation. 
  • Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.
  • Develop system level requirements, support the decomposition of requirements to component levels, and lead the verification of the system.
  • Understand vehicle architecture, guidance and flight control components and the associated control laws that govern the architecture.
  • Work with MATLAB/Simulink to construct, understand, and exercise system models in order to predict system performance and manage system margins.
  • Perform hardware correlation, system integration and verification testing.
  • Mentor younger engineers where and when appropriate.

 

In addition to the above, the experience you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 10 years’ relevant technical experience OR
  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering with 8 years’ relevant technical experience.
  • Self-motivation, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills.
  • MBSE, SysML, DOORs experience is a plus.

 

*This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
