Moog’s Space Vehicles Business Unit a division of Moog Space and Defense, is looking for a Program Director to join our Space Vehicles team in Arvada, CO. The Space Vehicles team is rapidly growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike. The focus is on the development of satellite buses, Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and more. The team is a tight-knit group of collaboration-oriented professionals that welcome others looking to work on multi-faceted, complex problems as a team.

The Arvada Office is next to RTD Light-Rail and is a short commute to Golden.  Colorado offers year-round outdoor activities and is a melting pot of cultures.

As a Program Director, you will…

  • Optimize the program likelihood of success through the appropriate application of the following processes: Project Planning; Project Monitoring and Control; Organization Management; Change Management; and Risk Management

  • Ensure proper coordination between all program elements by developing program plans and schedules and to ensure compliance with program plans by monitoring the status of cost, schedule and task completion.

  • Achieve timely resolution of outstanding issues through the conductance of effective day-to-day communications with the customer, Moog management, and Moog functional organizations. This includes support of a tiered escalation process for communicating up and down internally.

  • Lead Program Managers and support employee talent development through leading and coaching.

  • Sustain and expand the organizations book of business through the leadership and/or support of proposal teams and business capture campaigns.

  • Support process improvements and standard work implementation within Program Management.

  • Achieve program/project objectives through effective application of program management principles within the confines of scope schedule and budget.

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements through coordination and management of all program activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, with a minimum of ten years of professional work experience.

  • Minimum of Six  years of Program Management and Program Leadership experience.

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience required space preferred

  • Experience working in a fast pace, complex environment with a strong focus on quality and financial performance.

  • Ability to lead, organize, and influence people through outstanding communication and facilitation skills.

  • Knowledge of project management tools including Earned Value Management.

  • Experience and proficiency with MS Project.

  • Project Management Professional certificate is a plus.

  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information
