This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Moog's Quality Engineering group in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is Moog Missile Systems' high-volume production facility. The general purpose of this position is to apply knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements and procedures to provide direction and support related to defense products and contracts. Here’s what you’ll work on:
- Provide technical support to customers, suppliers and government agencies to guarantee compliance to contract requirements.
- Aid in the creation and evaluation of cost-effective inspection planning.
- Aid in the analysis of contractual requirements and creation of program plans, procedures, Quality Codes, etc.
- Audit and report to management on the status and progress of quality programs and initiatives.
- Provide technical support in determining cause of chronic manufacturing/quality problems.
- Support failure analysis, DOEs, SPC and other methods to improve processes.
- Participate in the review and evaluation of suspect material.
- Provide technical support for inspection personnel and other interfacing departments.
- Administer procedures and provide for the training of inspection and operations personnel in new methods, processes and products.
- Create Quality trend reports and suggest improved methods of operation.
- Support the implementation of department procedures and policies.
- Support Quality management in special assignments.
Here is what you will need to bring with you:
- Associate’s degree. A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/ analytical/ scientific field is preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in a Quality related environment.
- Ability to follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
Ability to access US export-controlled information
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with blueprint interpretation and manufacturing methods.
- Experience with lean and/or Six Sigma.
- Possess a working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, test, and procurement processes.
