Moog Ultrasonics Group in Salt Lake City, Utah is looking for a Quality Technician to support OEM-Quality department to inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished devices to ensure compliance and reliability.

The Moog Ultrasonics Group specializes in the research, development, and use of ultrasonic technology to create product solutions used in a variety of medical, industrial, and automation markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection

  • Coordinate with engineers to define critical inspection criteria
  • Set up inspection files
  • Perform first article inspections
  • Determine correct sample size
  • Perform incoming material inspections on each lot of material, as required
  • Perform in-process/final inspections per device instructions

Non-Conformance

  • Document non-conformance’s to specifications
  • Investigate nonconforming product events
  • Segregate nonconforming materials and product
  • Maintain scrap log

Operations

  • Perform manufacturing tests
  • Determine correct sample size
  • Perform manufacturing tests per device instructions

Calibration

  • Manage equipment calibration and preventive maintenance programs
  • Maintain equipment log(s)
  • Coordinate tool and equipment calibration
  • Audit tool and equipment preventive maintenance
  • Perform tool and equipment calibration per quality calibration procedures

Miscellaneous

  • Complete required training in a timely manner
  • Assist other quality staff with their duties as requested
  • Assist with other projects as requested by a member of management

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One to three months related experience and/or training

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to use standard office software (Word, Excel, email)
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently function in technical capacities
  • Ability to effectively communicate via email/telephone
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on a repeated basis
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) / Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
  • Able to succeed in highly regulated compliance oriented environment while still providing service excellence

 Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to carry out tasks through written, diagram or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CQT – Certified Quality Technician
  • CMI – Certified Mechanical Inspector
  • CCT – Certified Calibration Technician
  • CQIA – Certified Quality Improvement Associate
  • CQA – Certified Quality Auditor
