Deburrer
Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.
Moog is looking for a 1st Shift Deburrer to work at the Central facility,
located at 1213 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA.
*This will be a first shift position, working 40 hours per week
Job Summary/Responsibilities
- Remove burrs, corners, and rough edges from machined parts with hand tools, sand paper, emery cloth, steel wool and compounds.
- Remove burrs, corners, rough edges from machined parts using sand blasting and glass bead machines.
- Perform work under high power magnification to close dimensional tolerances.
- Soda spray and clean machined parts.
- Correctly maintain and store tools and equipment
- Verify work completed meets requirements of drawing, Quality Standards and work instructions
- Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly
- Proficient using Winterm/Connect to access documents and verify revisions
- Assist in training / cross-training of others.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Process.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in using a computer and searching for documentation
- Ability to use hand tools and deburring equipment (glass bead machine, soda blast machine, sand blasting machine, etc.) with training
- To be self-motivated and able to multitask
- Ability to demonstrate experience in reading blueprints is a plus
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is a plus
