Product Engineer
Moog Flo-Tork is a global designer and manufacturer of high performance hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical (EM) actuators for nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers, as well as for some of the most demanding industrial applications. Our naval products comply with stringent qualification requirements such as shock, vibration, low acoustic signature, and seawater corrosion resistance, while our industrial products are often designed comply with API, ATEX, or other customer specific requirements. Many of our applications are mission or safety critical, so you can be assured that your efforts will mean something.
As a Product Engineer with Moog Flo-Tork, you'll play a key role in the analysis, conceptual design, and development of hardware used on military and commercial vehicles and equipment. The products of Moog are generally unique for each customer and therefore most new applications require a special, tailored design.
Responsibilities:
- This role is primarily a product engineering function meaning the nominal role will support hardware manufacturing, assembly, and testing. However, this group is tied into a variety of activities and often acts as a facilitator between production and design engineering. You can expect broad exposure to a variety of activities in this role.
- Working on designs thru the full product lifecycle. Our engineers are typically involved in all stages from concept development to detail design, manufacture, and testing.
- Hands-on experience. Design and manufacturing are both on-site and you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with Manufacturing, A&T, and Quality through the design, development, and manufacture of new products.
- Opportunities to use a broad range of skills. Our site is relatively small, and you’ll be expected to utilize multiple engineering skillsets, but also will have the ability to tap into the resources and expertise of many other sites and groups
- Lots of long-term work. For example, our hardware is vital to the success of several classes of naval submarines, and the life expectancy of these subs can be over 45 years. We're still making parts for subs from 1968! We're also starting work for the next stage of submarines, so the work that you'll be doing will be important for decades to come.
- Making a significant contribution to the evolution of the conceptual design, technical project planning, detail design, and development testing.
- Being relied upon to work both independently and on a team of other passionate professionals like yourself.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years of related engineering experience
- Solid communication skills - engaging with customers, program managers, manufacturing teams, and other engineering staff throughout Moog.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and other mechanical equipment.
- Ability to make decisions and to work independently, while also being part of a larger team will be a key to success.
- This position will require you to use your judgement in unique situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with military contractual requirements and specifications.
- Experience debugging test issues and with improving manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Strong design and analysis background.
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
