Program Manager
Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage 4-6+ programs weekly and support other senior program managers and coordinators as necessary in larger functional and strategically important programs to the company
- Exercise emotional intelligence employ critical thinking and verbal communication skills with respect to customer intimacy. Learning the needs of the product are fundamental in establishing a baseline for program requirements.
- Administer higher level documentation reviews of statement of works, product specifications and supporting proposal documentation through compliance matrix creation and contract review. Review terms and conditions and layout the scheduling, status reporting and cost reporting expectations for each program based on expectations
- The program manager is required to support all major customer facing documentation requirements and customer presentations. Travel to and from the locations where the customers require milestone meetings such as PDR, CDR, and contractual kickoff reviews may be required. The PM will facilitate discussions between integral departments of engineering, sales, manufacturing, and contracts on an as needed basis.
- Ever increasing proficiency in LN and MS Project scheduling software and be able to assess material flow through manufacturing and assist in determining resource constraints whether it be material, personnel, or customer related. Create a plan to address and oversee all aspects of the impacts associated with the programs they are responsible for.
- Report weekly/monthly to management the progress of the constraints each job is facing. Determine risk levels through risk registers and hold regular standups for the Lean Product development initiatives that support the business.
- Must be a continuous improvement champion and undergo LPD training and conduct at a minimum four project planning events along with risk reduction meetings.
- Conduct primary customer interfacing on a weekly basis with a written update given monthly to each customer representing status and accounting of deliverables whether it be SDRL, or program related. The program manager will provide weekly/monthly status of programs to all of program management and site leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field and five years of related experience is preferred.
- Highly organized
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and support software
- Self-motivated
- Ability to maintain professional composure in any given customer situation
- This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
