Engineering Technician
Moog Medical Group in Salt Lake City, Utah is looking for an Engineering Technician. The primary duties for the job are to complete complaint investigations on customer pumps, maintain and calibrate production equipment, and assist engineers with projects.

General Position Summary:
The Engineering Technician has the primary responsibility to evaluate customer owned products for reported failures and maintain facility equipment per work instructions. The position works in a standard production environment.
General Position Summary:
This position will assist Manufacturing and/or Service Engineering activities related to MMDG product lines. The position will perform a wide variety of duties, not limited to: fixture assembly and maintenance, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the computer-controlled systems and devices used within the production facility. The position will perform validation and engineering tests per defined procedures to support manufacturing and service departments.
Core Responsibilities:
Assist Engineers with the associated activities related to manufacturing and/or service:
- Assist in writing and executing test and validation procedures.
- Execute testing per established procedures, record results, analyze data and actively work with engineers to finalize the test results, conclusions and recommendations.
- Assist with investigating product failures via active product performance testing.
- Assist with the design and qualification of test fixtures used by manufacturing and service.
- Assist with Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s), Non-Conforming Reports (NCR/s), Corrective Actions, Technical Reports, Assembly Instructions, Verification/Validation Reports, and other important manufacturing and/or service engineering documentation.
Miscellaneous
- Complete required training in a timely manner.
- Assist with line process improvements and LEAN implementation.
- Assist with other projects as requested by a member of manufacturing and/or service engineering.
- Assist with the awareness of new and trending equipment failures.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from an accredited College or technical school (for example, electronic, electro mechanic, automation, etc); or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge on Electromechanical systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to accurately interpret written assembly and test procedures
- Basic mechanical knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies and test equipment
- Use various electronic equipment and software to complete tasks
- Ability to interpret schematics
- Use of office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Visio etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and via email/telephone
- Ability to effectively follow verbal instructions from department engineers
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a repeated basis
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) / Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Able to succeed in highly regulated compliance oriented environment while still providing service excellence
Other Required Skills:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
