Electrician - 2nd Shift

Electrician – 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)
Diagnose problems, repair, and perform maintenance tasks on high and low voltage power distribution systems, including switch gear, transformers, panel boards, ground fault equipment, circuit breakers, fuses, as well as specialized equipment such as machine tool control systems, elevators, and variable
frequency drives.
Initial pay is $39.33/hr (base of $35.75 + 10% differential for working off-shift).
Responsibilities:
- Frequent use of ladders, scaffolds, various hand and power tools, specialized electrical diagnostic equipment, and working with energized equipment of various voltages is required.
- Prepare Bill of Materials and maintain Power Schematics drawings up to date.
- Occasionally assist the other trades within the scope of the Electrical Maintenance Department.
- The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned. The inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned to this job.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Over 3 years broad knowledge of the electrical field (installation of conduit systems, feeders, transformers, motors, VFD’s and the operation of electrical control circuits).
- Ability to work from complicated schematic drawings.
- Must be able to use a wide variety of measuring instruments such as a voltage tester, ohmmeter, wattmeter, etc.
- Ability to work from specification, and knowledge of N.E.C. and N.F.P.A 70e.
- Ability to work while standing all day with frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Willing to be subject to exposure to heat, smoke, wet or cold conditions.
- Capable of operating grinders, saws, pipe threaders, drills, pumps, and welders.
- Have a valid driver's license and be able to (with training) operate company vehicles and forklifts.
- Ability to provide some basic hand tools.
- Good eyesight with the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. or more on a regular basis (with assistance).
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
