Facility Engineer/Architect

Our Corporate Facilities Group in East Aurora, NY is hiring for a Facility Engineer/Architect.
The Facility Engineer/Architect reports to the Facilities Engineering and Project Management Manager in the Corporate Facilities Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, plan, coordinate, and manage facility renovations and develop the appropriate documentation (capital approvals, cost estimates, bid specification and drawing packages, purchase order requests, etc.) to effect implementation.
- Coordinate construction / rearrangement projects in the field.
- Monitor and inspect for quality, workmanship, best practices, code conformance, and completeness.
- Assist contractors in the resolution of design changes, interact with purchasing to negotiate best price for initial work and change orders.
- Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Interact with managers and supervisors or their corresponding designees to effectively to meet their space needs.
- Maintain / update facility base plans, occupancy and square footage information for long range space planning. Ability to produce a space program and subsequent design with a proposed scope of work.
- Manage the electronic drawing development and maintain proper storage of documents.
- Assess and create a master plan for facility interiors, roofs, and facades and break down scopes of work into a phased approached.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and 7 years minimum Facilities Architecture, planning, and project management experience.
- Licensed by New York State Office of Professions in Architecture/Design profession.
- Experience with building roofs and facades assessment and replacements is preferred.
- Strong AutoCad experience
- Excellent visual and graphic presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have working knowledge of Building Codes as they relate to life safety and best practices.
- Must have working knowledge of furniture systems.
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
