Mechanical/Control Systems Engineer

Our Corporate Facilities Group in East Aurora, NY is hiring for a Mechanical/Control Systems Engineer.
The Mechanical/Control Systems Engineer reports to the Facilities Engineering and Project Management Manager in the Corporate Facilities Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports Manager of Facilities Engineering and Project Management promoting a comprehensive, customer sensitive department that provides Master Planning, Capital Program Planning, Space and Drawing Management initiatives on the campus.
- Engineer, plan, and schedule facility renovations, utility system upgrades, and develop the appropriate documentation (capital approvals, cost estimates, bid specification and drawing packages, purchase order requests, etc.) to effectively implement.
- Coordinate construction / rearrangement projects in the field.
- Monitor and inspect for quality, workmanship, best practices, code conformance, and completeness.
- Assist contractors in the resolution of design changes, interact with purchasing to negotiate best price for initial work and change orders.
- Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Interact with managers and supervisors or their corresponding designees to effectively to meet their facility needs.
- Assure designs and projects are coordinated with maintenance, building services, environmental health and safety, and other groups that will be impacted pertaining to utility systems and environmental impacts.
- Plan, assign, guide and follow up the design and construction activities of supporting facility in-house and outside contract employees.
- Maintain as-builts drawings and other documentation of the facility utility systems including but not limited to; HVAC, potable water, heating water, chilled water, and fire protection used in manufacturing facilities. Ability to assess and create a master plan for the systems listed and break down scopes of work into phased approached when appropriate.
- Read and write PID drawings and sequence of operations for equipment and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically, the incumbent must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Facilities Engineering and 7 years’ experience in facility engineering, construction disciplines, and project management.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Typically, the incumbent must possess 7 years or more experience engineering and designing facility HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems.
- Ability to read and create construction documents, P&ID drawings, and sequence of operations is required.
- PLC/BMS programming for equipment and systems is preferred.
- Engineering design skills, including a comprehensive knowledge of standard engineering symbolism related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building construction are required.
- Use of computer aided design and maintenance management software is mandatory.
- AutoCad experience is preferred.
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
