Program Manager

Moog Space and Defense Group in East Aurora is looking for a Program Manager to work across business units, be responsible for diversified products, and be Moog’s representative to our customers. Your programs could vary from startup phase to follow on, all of which will offer a chance to work on incredible technology and with very talented people.
Under the direction of the Staff Program Manager, you will support larger programs with combined sales value of assigned programs of $3-10 million.
Day- to-Day Responsibilities:
- Multiple production programs (or 1 – 2 component development programs) with more challenging program requirements than that of an Associate Program Manager, including vendor subcontract and supply chain management
- Support larger programs and ensure compliance with contract requirements through coordination and management of all program activities
- Achieve program/project objectives through effective application of program management principles within the confines of scope schedule and budget defined by the program/project sponsor
- Sustain and expand the organizations book of business through the leadership and/or support of proposal teams and business capture campaigns
- Ensure proper coordination between all program elements by developing program plans and schedules and to ensure compliance with program plans by monitoring the status of cost, schedule and task completion
- Achieve timely resolution of outstanding issues through the conductance of effective day-to-day communications with the customer, Moog management, and Moog functional organizations
- Optimize the program/project likelihood of success through the appropriate application of the following processes: Project Planning; Project Monitoring and Control; Organizational Management; Change Management; and Risk Management
Here’s what you’ll bring with you…
- BS degree in a technical field, preferably Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience; 1-3 years of relevant program experience
- Proven knowledge and experience with formal project management, including use of project management tools and Earned Value Management
- The ability to organize people, the ability to influence, and outstanding ability to communicate and facilitate
