Associate Product Delivery Technician 

 

Within the framework of a team-based organization, perform various precision assembly, test and process-based operations on complex components, assemblies and systems supporting new production and repair and overhaul activity. Together with other team members (e.g., supervisors, lead persons, etc), provide leadership and direction to the team by coordinating efforts, developing capabilities, communicating status and leading change to improve team performance. Support team initiatives and coordinate/manage team performance using metrics and data to meet or exceed delivery performance goals. 

 

 

Responsibilities:


Operating within the guidelines defined by the business unit functional model, the incumbent performs at various levels of responsibility and accountability within the following performance categories:


Assembly & Test:

 

  • Perform various precision assembly and preparation operations on a wide variety of complex electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Special Processes: Trained and/or certified in various processes, which support product delivery.
  • Support processes include, but are not limited to, Final Inspection, Shipping, Repair Processing, Receiving Inspection, Source Inspection, Machining Operations and Repairman Certification or another regulatory administrative requirement.
  • Capable of performing one or more of these processes to reduce product cycle time and improve delivery performance.
  • Additional support processes may include Welding

 

Team Initiatives:

  • Full involvement in promoting and advancing a team-based culture is required for this position.
  • Actively participate, and in some cases, lead team projects, process improvements and lean initiatives intended to improve overall efficiency.
  • Some initiatives may involve working with teams from other functional areas or other divisions.
  • Performance Metrics: A thorough understanding of team performance metrics is required. These metrics form the basis for identifying performance deficiencies and potential opportunities for process improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for teaching and communicating performance metrics to other team members and promoting team accountability for their performance. 

 

Delivery Performance Coordination:

  • Coordinate efforts to accomplish daily delivery schedule priorities and commitments.
  • Acts as a source of information for hardware status to other departments and actively works to minimize production delays. 

 

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Technician(s) or other identified representatives, to provide the overall leadership of their team.
  • Set the example for others to follow and provide the training and encouragement for others to develop capabilities.
  • Good communication skills and solid understanding of team principles is required for effective leadership.


Training:

  • Provides training as required to enhance the capabilities and knowledge of other team members. 

 

Personal Commitment:

  • Must possess the personal commitment and desire to be accountable for his/her job performance.
  • The ability to volunteer, willingness to learn, display a positive attitude, set a good example and positively contribute to the teaming environment is essential. 


Process Improvements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to lead and/or participate in process improvements intended to reduce costs and improve efficiency within the work area.
  • Daily awareness of redundant activities and non-value added efforts form the basis for identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives.


 

 Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or formal training equivalency, plus 3 years as a PDO or 6 years of A&T experience

OR

  • Two-year technical degree plus 2 years as a PDO or 4 years of A&T experience

OR

  • Four-year technical degree plus 1 year as an PDO or 3 years of A&T experience

 

 

 

 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
