Moog Space and Defense Group in East Aurora is looking for a Contract Administrator to direct and monitor all contractual activities related to meeting Moog’s performance objectives on assigned contracts.  Under the direction of the Manager of Contract Administration, you’ll interact with Moog and customer personnel to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, to protect the company’s legal position, and interact with Corporate Legal Counsel as required.

 

Day- to-Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Review of Contracts / Purchase Orders to insure consistency with the Moog proposal, and for job order entry into the Moog production master schedule of MRP
  • Provide continual follow-up on technical and delivery issues with engineering and manufacturing respectively
  • Coordinate with other internal departmental activities required to support the contract
  • Regular contact with the Sales & Marketing team to advise on advanced production schedules in anticipation of customer requirements while minimizing the impact on Moog’s inventory levels
  • Coordinate with divisional disciplines to establish lead times consistent with contractual requirements for prototype and production hardware
  • Administration of foreign contracts
  • Motivate and deal effectively with people both inside and outside the company
  • Correspondence reflecting a high caliber of intelligence, conciseness, clarity and good English usage

 

Here’s what you’ll bring with you…

 

  • BA Degree or a BS Degree and at least 2 years working experience in Sales & Marketing, Contract Administration, Production Control, or Engineering
    • In lieu of a four-year degree, Associate’s Degree plus 8 years related work experience and 2 years specific work experience is acceptable
  • Knowledge of defense industry sales techniques and government procurement regulations (FAR, DRARS and NASA FAR Supplements) and a general knowledge of manufacturing and engineering procedures
  • Familiarity with shipping and invoicing procedures
  • Knowledgeable about the legal ramifications of proposing to foreign nationals, selling of military hardware and shipping high technology product overseas
  • Ability to interpret from a technical, quality, and manufacturing perspective, formulate proposals, and function as Moog’s contractual representative in negotiations
  • Working knowledge of pricing and cost structuring, knowledge of contract interpretation, and a feel for technical issues
