Job Summary:
The Development Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the creation, building, production, rework, and repair of tooling and fixturing as well as development, prototype, R&D and production hardware in the form of piece parts, components or assemblies. This requires planning, fixturing, and layout of the job and also includes creating and editing CNC programs as necessary. This can involve establishing extremely close tolerances, critical surfaces, and finishes. Additionally, some skilled bench work may be required such as filing, scraping, lapping, fitting, timing, indexing, assembling, and adjusting to ensure satisfactory operation.

The incumbent will be responsible for making improvements in the areas of cost, quality, and delivery, as well as process/cycle time and NRE cost reductions. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to participate in the transition of development/prototype hardware and processes to production to internal operations. These efforts will require the individual to interact with personnel from other departments within the organization.
