Value Stream Planning Leader
As the Value Stream Planning Leader, you will be responsible for the materials system design and refinement, capacity planning, and long-range master scheduling across the Value Stream. This includes the leadership and development of the Planning team within the designated Value Stream. You will have direct input into Materials Management policies and procedures as they relate to and support Site and Group strategies. In addition, the Value Stream Planning Leader is responsible for improving functional efficiencies, identifying, supporting, and/or leading lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and identifying and implementing advanced lean scheduling techniques.
In this role, you will be accountable for:
- Leading the Value Stream in developing and deploying a successful material planning strategy based on current load, future growth, and new product introduction, with a result of proper inventory management.
- Developing and implementing tools, processes, training aids, and standard work to drive continuous improvement within the Planning/Materials function of the Value Streams.
- Performing and facilitating Capacity Planning analysis to identify constraints within the Value Stream and make recommendations to remedy in coordination with the Value Stream Manager and/or other related functions, which aligns with and supports the Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning (SIOP) process.
- Development of a high-level balanced Master Production Schedule based on Capacity Planning and constraint management processes.
- Providing leadership, facilitation, and coaching to support the performance and development of the assigned Value Stream Planners.
- Providing oversight across Value Stream related Planning/Materials processes through Leader Standard Work and “Gemba” activities, to drive process performance and continuous improvement.
- Creating, monitoring, and reporting status on achieving Value Stream initiatives and KPI’s.
- Identifying roadblocks and actions through facilitation of problem-solving methodologies.
- Advancing Lean Management System through active participation/facilitation in daily Tiered/SQDCL meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in the field of Business, Engineering, or related fields is required
- Greater than 6 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of Materials, Supply Chain, Program Management, or Operations required
- Proven general capabilities in the areas of understanding technical processes, systems, and products in functional area, business acumen, and understanding customers' needs
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at any one time
- Proven specific capabilities in leading cross-functional teams driving change to impact targeted initiatives
- Working knowledge and experience with Lean principles
- This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPM or APICS Certification desired
